I am using up my final papers from the Pier Collection - I just love that collection! This layout is all about the afternoon Penny and I spent in London last year enjoying a cupcake decorating class.
The 'cupcake fun' letters were cut using my new die that Hugh gave me for Christmas for my Big Shot. I know I've got a Cricut, but sometimes it is nice to just grab the Big Shot and use that instead! I was able to cut out some quite thick chipboard for the word 'fun' which makes the letters quite like Thickers.
I was pleased with this embellishment cluster - I based it on one of the pre-made ones that came in the Pier Collection which I had already used.
This layout is, like the other day, based on the Shimelle's Sketch to Scrapbook Page Number 33 where the pattern paper gets a big look in! I liked this paper, but thought it was a bit busy to use as a background - shows how wrong you can be if you use it like this!
I didn't get around to doing any scrapping last weekend, but I have been watching the videos from Shimelle's new class, Return to the Collection, and I am so inspired and itching to get back into my craft room and create! Here's hoping that I can do so this weekend.
That ’busy' papers works great with the simplicity of the design, doesn't it? I remember your cupcake day with Penny and thought at the time what a great idea she had had for her present - lovely to see it all written up and displayed.
ReplyDeleteI too remember the cupcake day - and especially that snail. I like both pages and agree that cluster is lovely with the layering and sprinkles. But then almost everything is better with sprinkles :)
ReplyDeleteWhat a brilliant illustration this post is of the fun to be had from reliving a day whilst scrapbooking it
ReplyDeleteTwo lovely pages to remember what was obviously a great day out for and Penny! I particularly like the cluster you made.
ReplyDeleteA lovely page,Becky....I remember your post about the cupcake class.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love that second layout. The patterned paper worked perfectly with your design. It's so much fun to scrap events like this one---you get to relive it while you scrap!
ReplyDeleteThese are such fun layouts, Becky! I love your title cut from your die cutter. I have a Cricut and noticed the last time I used it that it really needs a new blade. Of course, I never remember that when I'm at the craft store. Maybe I'll go order one online right now...
ReplyDeleteLooks like you're enjoying your big shot. I must admit as much as I adore my silhouette, I'd never get rid of my faithful big shot :)
ReplyDeleteTwo fab pages, I'm liking those papers a lot. And I agree - great cluster work.
