I was lucky to be let off work early, so once I got home and Penny had returned home (Hugh was working from home!) we let Ben open his presents. We had donated some money towards an Ipad and as a surprise we bought him Lego Batman for his X-Box.
We then went to a Chinese restaurant in Brentwood where we had a thoroughly enjoyable meal.

On the Sunday following his birthday, we had all the family over and had a barbecue. We were very lucky with the weather as it had rained on Saturday, but although it was very windy we were able to sit and eat outside under the gazebo.

Ben said that he had had a wonderful birthday, which was lovely to hear. To finish this post, here is the big boy with his mummy!

Great pictures, Becky. Looks like your boy was treated quite well for his 21st birthday. I'm not sure what the status of 21 is where you live, but here in Arizona, USA it means you are of legal drinking age and can buy alcohol. It's a big deal for some, and my daughter thought it would be really cool, but isn't much of a party-girl so that excitement was short lived.
Aw, what a lovely family likeness there is there :) And it's so nice that he's still happy to pose with his mum. Love that.
Looks like a wonderful party for the birthday boy!
Thanks for your message on my blog, Becky. See you in LSN.
