The four of us recently visited Danbury Country Park. When the kids were little we would quite often go out on a Sunday afternoon for a walk, visiting Norsey Woods, or Thorndon Country Park, or even going for a walk along the prom in Maldon. However, although it only took 20 minutes to get there we had never visited Danbury.
We had a lovely afternoon - the sun was out and we walked for about 2 hours.
Ben carried his backpack (just like when he was little!) but this time he had brought drinks for us all, which was a welcome surprise.
There were plenty of ducks for us to watch and they did look funny each time they dived for fish. The fish in one of the lakes were huge! We thought there might be a reversal of the food chain and they might eat the ducks lol!
Love this photo of Ben and Hugh. Took some advice from Shimelle and used a 'tripod' - in this case a low fence (not the ground which she suggested in one of her classes) and I got this photo, which although you can't see their faces shows how much Ben loves his Dad.
This is also a lovely photo of the two of them. I have a copy of this framed and on my window sill in the lounge.
So, where was Penny? Yes, she was with us!
She spent quite a lot of the time trying to avoid the insect life as she has a slight phobia. Me stopping to take this
photo was not on the list of her ten top favourite things!
All in all some lovely memories, which I will soon be scrapping! We need to be concentrating on packing now for both of them. Ben is taking his final bits and pieces to Plymouth next week and then Penny will be going to Swindon on the 5th September, so we need to pack for her too!
