Celebrating a birthday in the Grand Canyon

Another layout for my California albums (onto the 3rd one now!). I used a Shimelle sketch for this one as I liked the idea of a sunburst for a celebration. It was also a good way to use up scraps of paper.

'Bo' is my nickname. When I was a baby my Dad called me 'Beckybo' and the 'Bo' part has stuck. Not many people call me Bo now - but Hugh does nearly all the time! If he calls me Becky I know I am in trouble and if he calls me Rebecca I run lol!

I was pleased to use some buttons on this layout as I haven't used any for ages and I do have quite a stash of them!
The weather here has turned really nasty - rainy, overcast and so cold in the evenings and mornings! I went to bed last night with the duvet, a blanket and then my dressing gown! I really need to get the winter duvet out of the loft at the weekend and swap it with the summer one. I am determined NOT to put the heating on until the 1st October, so we are wrapping up in the evenings and last night Penny and I watched tv whilst sitting on the settee under a blanket. I am not a miser, but once the heating goes on I feel winter has arrived and I don't want winter yet!

I agree with you about the heating and winter!! It is certainly feeling autumnal now.

Such a fun layout documenting your birthday at the Grand Canyon, Becky! :o)

Funny to think about you bundling up when we are still running our air conditioner because of the heat. We usually don't turn our heat on until the beginning of December.

Love the layout and the journaling but have to admit when I first read the post title in Feedly my eyes ignored "day" lol that caused a double take! I was thinking had already headed back to school, glad you had more snuggle time with your girl. it was 90 here but a cold front this weekend will put us at 73 :)

I'm bundling up one day, and the air conditioner is on the next! We won't turn on the heat yet either, but our temps have been like a roller coaster! Your page is certainly sunny! And what good memories you've captured of your trip!

I'm so with you on the heating. It isn't on here yet but we have the aga heating the kitchen so we are huddling around that more in the evenings.

I'm under a blanket in the evenings when watching TV now ~ we are trying hard to resist the heating going on!
Lovely page.

The weather is definitely autumnal isn't it? Had to drag out sweaters and wear socks :sigh: I like the sunburst across the top of the page and your birthday sounds like a great day :)

What a nice cheerful looking page! You made me smile about the heat. We've had chilly & hot. Right now we're heading out of chilly weather and into hot for the weekend. We've actually had the furnace on a few nights but not for long. Pretty soon we'll be putting it on and leaving it on. (:
