Winner of the book!

I did do the draw on Wednesday but forgot to post the winner! The winner was Jenna Oksanen and so the book will be winging it's way to Finland early next week!

Do you have anything planned for the weekend? Penny and I are taking Wendy to Canterbury later this morning so that she can visit Penny's flat and then we will be visiting the Cathedral. Sunday is my Dad's birthday, so we will be popping over to Hemel to give him his presents and have a slice of cake (made by Penny of course!).

Last year's photography scavenger hunt and a giveaway!

I completed Rinda's challenge last year and then had to decide what to do with my collection of photos.

I got them printed out and then they sat in a drawer for a couple of months. Then I had the idea to make a mini album and found I had one in my stash! So I started compiling the album one evening when I was scrapping with Wendy and Sue. It then got put back in the drawer!

On Wednesday this week Wendy and Sue came round for a crafty evening again and I got out the album and worked all evening on it. By the end of the evening all I had left to do was the journalling which I completed last night. 

Here is a photo showing the finished album. I have not shown all the pages, but you can see the general idea!

When I found the photos in the drawer, I also found this book.

I've looked through it a few times and scraplifted from it, but I need to declutter so have decided to give it away! It's still in pretty good condition, so if you fancy going into the draw then please leave a comment below (this is an international giveaway). Walking update, a couple of layouts and a small giveaway

I've really got back into the swing of walking again, even though I had a migraine last week which lasted nearly 5 days. Fortunately I am feeling much better now.

Over the weekend we were quite busy with jobs and visiting my Mum and Dad (lovely to see them after quite a long time and to see that Mum is slowly recovering from her shingles). I did manage to get some scrapbooking done Saturday afternoon.

This was done using my SJCrafts kit - some of the January and some of the February, plus a couple of bits from my stash.

I am slowly making my way through the photos from our Shropshire holiday! We are off to South Wales soon!

Hugh's Mum is starting the journey to recovery. She has been moved onto a ward for the elderly and they seem to have much more of an idea of how to treat her. She was in very good spirits over the weekend and we are hopeful that in about a month she may be able to go home.

Thanks for all your good wishes and prayers for my family - it is really appreciated.

Finally, I have been having a little clear out and found these stamps, which I have never used.

Soporific Sofa

Penny came up with this title! She also moaned that I was using these photos - 'how embarrassing' was her comment! However, I don't often get to see my babies asleep any more and I still love to watch them sleep , just like when they were babies. How Ben could sleep with his legs like that I don't know, but he was sound asleep.

This layout was made using scraps from my stash and one sheet of patterned paper that had been sitting in the folder for ages and not used.

Just realised that I haven't done a close-up of the journalling and I don't know if you can read it in the top photo.

'Ben was a little hung over when he came home for his birthday celebrations 

and needed a little nap on the settee when everyone had gone. Penny fell asleep 

another afternoon but I couldn't resist taking the photo.'

500th Post and a Little Giveaway

Wow! My 500^th post. I never thought that I would actually keep going with this when I first started back in June 2007. It was something I thought I would do to share my scrapbooking but I didn’t know if anyone would actually read it! In the beginning it was a bit hit and miss with 3 posts in June and then nothing until December 2007! I then didn’t post anything until August 2009!

It wasn’t until I signed up for Shimelle’s class, ‘Blogging for Scrapbookers’ in November 2009 that I actually started posting more regularly. My first post following the first prompt gave me my first and longest follower and good friend, Deb@Paperturtle. I feel so privileged that we actually got to meet this year. Sian and Rinda quickly followed and I feel lucky to count them as blogfriends too, and although we haven’t met yet, I feel we will one day! I have met so many lovely people through blogging, Jacky, Alexa, Alison, Gail, Carrie, Karen  and if I haven’t mentioned you please don’t feel left out! I appreciate all your comments and your support through difficult times has been so appreciated. I love that I have connected with people all over the world and that I can share in your lives and see the wonderful things you create and get inspiration from you.
