Interesting to hear from Jackie and Sandra that they have each read one of the authors from my previous post and like their work! Thanks for that ladies, I am really looking forward to reading them now! Can't decide whether to keep them for our break away to the Isle of Wight or to dive into them now!

Spent this afternoon waiting for my new washing machine to be delivered, only to be told at 4pm that the shop had ordered the wrong one and they can't now deliver it until Monday - grrr! We had such trouble last weekend with Comet and trying to buy a new machine that we had decided to shop in a little local shop as we had received good service from them in the past. All I can say is that at least they will deliver after I get home from work on Monday so Penny hasn't got to deal with it and I haven't got to take time off!

So, whilst I was waiting I had a crafty play. My Gottacraft February kit had been sitting on my desk for a few weeks now, so I decided to get down and get crafting and came up with these two layouts, both based on Becky Fleck sketches.
I added some crystals from my stash, but apart from that just used the kit for this layout.
On this layout I dug out some pink flowers I had and some pearls and added them, but the rest is the kit (oh, there is a small bit of ribbon which came out of a t-shirt!). Although the papers were pink they actually toned quite well with my red dress in real life, although they don't look so good together in this photo! I had a go at using some splattering, but it looked awful, so covered it up with the flower top right!

This weekend I don't think I'm going to get much time for crafting as we have a big family party to celebrate my Mum's birthday. Ben is coming home with Rachel either tonight or tomorrow (they haven't made up their minds yet!) and then we are all going out for a meal - 12 of us - and then back to my sister's for a cup of tea and slice of the birthday cake Penny is making. However, it is going to give me lots of photos to scrap!

Wishing you all a lovely weekend.

Last Gotta Craft Kit Layouts!

I've finally used up all the bits from the January Gotta Craft kit. Actually I have a few very small scraps left, but will probably use them up on a card, but as you know, it takes me ages to make cards!

Both the layouts are from my and Hugh's visit to York back in November and our trip to the North Yorks Moors Railway and the National Railway Museum.
Excuse the poor light on this one - I took the photo one evening meaning to blog during the week and didn't get around to it! The bunting is cut from one of the sheets of paper - that took some time but was very therapeutic!
The border strip on the right was actually a frame, which I wasn't quite sure how to use, until I suddenly had the idea to cut it up! I am pleased with how it looks.

I am really pleased that I am now signed up to receive this kit monthly - not long until February's arrives now :)

'ard work

Just a quick post to show you another layout I did using the Gottacraft kit.
Quite simple, but I love the photo of the aardvarks we saw at London Zoo back in October!

Gotta Craft Kit

I saw this kit on Gotta Craft and as I hadn't had a kit for a while and it looked rather scrummy I decided to treat myself! I wasn't disappointed and it arrived the day after I had ordered it which was wonderful!

I added just a few flowers I had in my stash to it and some more Authentique words and came up with this layout, based on one in the Pencillines Sketchbook.
I just love these papers, which aren't really paper at all, much more like card! I've got quite a bit left and so will definitely be making another layout with this kit.
This is definitely a kit I think I would like to subscribe to!
