A short interlude!

When we arrived back last weekend, we decided to take it easy on the Sunday (apart from washing, ironing etc!) and I did get some time to do some scrapbooking. I am working on my Christmas photos at the moment!
I have had various sketches etc sitting on my desk for a while to use and this one is based on a Shimelle sketch, although for the life of me now I can't find the sketch I used!

Now this one came from the Glitter Girl episode on 21st March - I liked the idea of using up my scraps along the top of the photos. I've got so much Christmas paper and yet I only ever scrap about 4 pages each year! This year I must not buy any more Christmas paper!

This is based on the Starting Points of 26th March. Again, I was able to pile up some layers of papers to get them used!

And this last one is actually New Year's Day, so no Christmas papers used! I delved into the odds I had from a Sarah's Cards kit and used them along with some other bits and pieces I had. This is based on Shimelle's sketch of the week for 23rd March. The journalling in the pocket is below:
Well, I enjoyed creating these pages and I am looking forward to having some time to create over this weekend. Hugh and I are off out shopping today - new prescription sunglasses for Hugh, his anniversary present to buy (a new pair of binoculars) and some new trainers for him too! We are now on the countdown to our road trip to California - I'll tell you more about that another day! What are you up to this weekend?

JYC the final pages

So, here we are, the 7th January and I have finished my album for this year. Without any more ado, here are my last pages.

So, there it is. My JYC for 2011. I have really enjoyed doing it again. I thought that I might be getting bored with it, but although some things stay the same each year, there is always something new to journal about. Will I do it for Christmas 2012? Probably, but I if I do then I will finish it on the 1st of January. The final few days I found really hard to complete - I could think of nothing new to journal relating to Shimelle's prompts and as I was back at work there was nothing much to journal about that was exciting!

Just before I sign off on this closing prompt, here is a look at my completed album.
This is the inside of the back cover. The big bauble was printed onto a gift bag I received at Christmas - there were lots of them and they have all been cut out now and put into my Christmas stash to use on my layouts! (Not all of them say Christmas 2011!)

Another of the baubles off the bag, a decoration off one of our Christmas crackers, a ribbon rescued from some packaging and the little glass baubles on the ribbon are also off the crackers!

So, it just leaves me to say to JYC 2011

A JYC Catch Up!

I know, I said that before Christmas I would post my pages and keep up to date! However, life took over and although I kept up to date with making my pages, and I managed to post them onto the forum, I haven't got around to updating them on my blog. So, to rectify matters, here they are!

Each of these has been a single page layout, but I decided to do a double page for Christmas Day.

And then back to single page layouts again!

So, that is me caught up with the pages I have photographed! I am continuing on until the 6th, so will post those pages once I can get some good light to take the pictures.

Funny headgear!

At work we are now wearing casual dress until the 3rd January. We were asked to wear festive headgear with our casual dress - the only people seeming to do this are the HR department!
This photo is going to appear in my JYC - the lady in the front is my boss and the lady to the right is my colleague who I share an office with.

JYC - the start

I have started with Shimelle's flash card and covered the inside front cover of the album with a page and placed it there.

I then move onto the manifesto
And here are days 1 through to 4:

I have not followed Shimelle's prompts strictly, as this is partly a JYC and partly a sort of December Daily. I followed the prompts to the letter the first year I completed the class, but have since found that I enjoy doing this by mixing JYC with a diary of the festive period. I seem to make my pages up every second day, which means I can print two photos off onto a half sheet of A4 (as I haven't got any 4x6 paper at the moment) so this saves time and money. Off to have a look at some more pages in Blogland now!
