So, to start with here is a layout from our holiday to the Isle of Wight and our visit to the Owl and Monkey Sanctuary. The journalling tells how Hugh 'talked' to an owl and it kept answering him back! From then on we called him the owl whisperer! For once, this is not taken from any sketch or scraplift and is completely my own work! I used the June kit from Gottacraft - so sad that there are to be no more kits from Sandra.
And onto the second page in my California scrapbook. This is based on a Shimelle starting point. This one in fact. I have got a load of papers which I am planning to use for this project, but when I went through the papers there was not one navy one, so I had to resort to my stash to find what navy papers I had there! I am pleased with the overall effect of this page.
Lastly, another page created by me without the aid of a sketch, starting point or scraplift! The map is from the wonderful itinerary book we were given by the travel agent - there are lots of bits and pieces I will be cutting from there to use throughout this project. I had myboarding pass showing the Club World upgrade, but it looked too big on the page, so I scanned it in, shrank it and then printed it out onto white card, twice and used it as an embellishment. The washi tape I bought from Michaels when I was in Las Vegas!

Starting points layout
I am at home for a couple of days as I am acting as nurse to Penny who had 4 wisdom teeth out under a general anaesthetic this morning. She is home now, but very swollen and sore. Of course, as well as being her nurse, this also gives me some time to write up some blog posts!
Shimelle posted a new Starting Points post last week and so I decided to give it a go.
Her starting point was this:

The photo wasn't brilliant, but it was the only one we took on Hugh's actual birthday last year, so I wanted to use it on a layout. The papers are from a Sarah's Cards kit - still got a few of those to use up!
