Photography Scavenger Hunt Check In

Well, I have finished! I have a complete set. I wasn't sure that I would get the juggler, but Ben helped out again - his girlfriend juggles! So he set her to work and took the photo for me - what a good boy!

I have put all my photos onto Instagram and want to use all square ones this year to show them off on a layout - the only problem being that it cuts off some of the ball in this photo! I do have the original and you can see all the balls - I promise she is juggling!

And the last one on my list was a sign welcoming you to your home town.

I knew I wanted this sign and it was just a matter of getting to it to take the photo! The sign is in the middle of a very busy roundabout! The only way to get a photo of it was to park in the local supermarket car park, walk down the access road (no pavement, so not very safe) and then walk precariously over some cobbles to the edge of the road and then wait for there to be no traffic! Well, I managed it, with Hugh's help! We had just taken the photo when the heavens opened and we got drenched getting back to the car - the things we do for this scavenger hunt! I do really enjoy it.

Last year's photography scavenger hunt and a giveaway!

I completed Rinda's challenge last year and then had to decide what to do with my collection of photos.

I got them printed out and then they sat in a drawer for a couple of months. Then I had the idea to make a mini album and found I had one in my stash! So I started compiling the album one evening when I was scrapping with Wendy and Sue. It then got put back in the drawer!

On Wednesday this week Wendy and Sue came round for a crafty evening again and I got out the album and worked all evening on it. By the end of the evening all I had left to do was the journalling which I completed last night. 

Here is a photo showing the finished album. I have not shown all the pages, but you can see the general idea!

When I found the photos in the drawer, I also found this book.

I've looked through it a few times and scraplifted from it, but I need to declutter so have decided to give it away! Photography Scavenger Hunt Check-In

You can see all my finds so far on the page tab above. So far I have shared 7 finds, but in the past couple of weeks I have found two more!

First a photo bomb! I was at the Harry Potter Studio Tour and trying to take a photo of Harry's bedroom under the stairs. Ben managed to photo bomb me! I knew he would be the one when I saw the original list and I haven't been disappointed!

And my second one is an urban street scene. This was taken in Canterbury High Street on Sunday whilst we were walking to the poetry competition.

Rinda's Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt Round Up

 

Wow! That title was a bit of a mouthful, but it says what needs saying. Yes, it is the end of summer and so today is the day to share all the photos I managed to find from Rinda's list. I thoroughly enjoyed taking part this year. I have been a watcher the previous two years, always wishing towards the end that I had joined in and I am so happy to have been part of this great party this year!

So, what did I manage to get? Well, I have been posting all my finds over on my Scavenger Hunt page (link above), but I thought I would do another post here with them all on. I managed to find all 21 items and one of the reserves, so I am mightily pleased! On my other page I do have multiples of some items, so below you will see which ones I have actually chosen!

What I really like is that they tell the story of my summer. The trips out with Penny, having Ben home for a short while, a holiday with Hugh, walks with Hugh and Penny and a couple of trips by myself just to get items on the list.

So, what am I going to do with these photos? Well, I am going to make a mini album with them and document about each photo - where it was taken and why it was a special part of summer. I will make it over the course of the next couple of months when I go to my Tuesday scrapbooking with Wendy and Sue as something small to work on is usually better than a 12x12 as we don't always have a lot of space to work on! Well, there is quite a bit of space, but not loads for three of us to spread out widely as I do when I scrapbook!

Sunday Scavenger Hunt - and I finish!

Last weekend I went to collect my new glasses and remembered that I still need my photo of  City Hall, Capital or other similar civic building. As I was in Basildon town centre and the council offices are there I whipped out my phone and took an Instagram of them! They also have a nice tower next to them! The building houses the council offices, the library and also the Towngate Theatre where we have seen a couple of brilliant pantomimes.

Then, on my way home from work on Wednesday, I suddenly remembered the windmill, so took a quick detour off the A12 to go to Mountnessing. I had no idea where to park, so drove very slowly, annoying other drivers probably (!) until I found the village hall car park which was right next to the windmill. Again I didn't have my camera so took an Instagram on my phone. I am much happier with this windmill and this will be the one I go with!

And so I have all my finds! The only one I didn't get was one of the substitutes, 'A person wearing an outfit (or item of clothing) that symbolizes your country. However, I am happy with that and have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed joining in with Rinda's Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt for the first time. I hope that you do it again next year Rinda please! Now to get the photos printed and make up a mini album. Once that is done I will share it on here with you all. How have you done? Summer Scavenger Hunt - a couple of photos and a round up

So, it is the end of the month and Rinda is doing a round up again! I have a couple of photos to share today - the first one is the windmill.
16. Windmill

I am not happy with this! It was taken at the Park and Ride when Penny and I went into Chelmsford. However, there is a 'proper' windmill not far from us and I really NEED to go and get a photo of it and substitute it for this one before the 21st September!

The second one I have to share is:
21. A photograph of you with an artistic tool or craft supply

 

Penny was kind enough to take this one of me with my Gypsy and Cricut - I tried a couple of on the timer and they just weren't right!

So, only one to go on the 'proper' list - 3. City Hall, Capitol or other similar civic building. I am really hoping to get that photo whilst I am out today collecting my new glasses. Then the only one I won't have is one of the substitutes, so I am not worried about that! Mission nearly complete!

I am intending on putting all the photos into a mini album. I have bought the album and just need to get the photos printed out now. Are you going to do anything with the photos?

Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt - Linkup

Sunday Scavenger Hunt Photos

I’m doing quite well now with the photos on Rinda’s Summertime Photography Scavenger Hunt. This one I got just before went away on holiday when Ben came home for the weekend. He had been out the night before and was making up for lost sleep!
 6. Someone or something taking a nap

I then made a concerted effort whilst I was away on holiday in Sorrent to get as many of my missing ones as I could!

1. Open air market

I took this on the main street in Sorrento. We didn’t actually see many market stalls, but I am hoping this one will do!

4. Airplane

An easy one as we flew to Italy! I took plenty whilst we were waiting at the airport and liked this one the best.

5. Sunset

I was spoilt for choice here! I love the one with the silhouette, but I also like the second one where the sun is such a huge orange globe. Please help me decide which one to choose!

14. Stained glass object or mosaic

Again I was spoilt for choice with such wonderful mosaics in Herculaneum and Pompeii. My favourite was this one from the women’s bath house in Herculaneum.

However, the second one also made me giggle (quite childish I know, but there you go!).

15. Fire truck or police car

I thought I might be cheeky and use this one:

But it is not really a car! So, here is an Italian police car to make a change from an English one.

One of the substitute/bonus items is a sundial. This is not a complete sundial, but I was amazed at how preserved it was. It was in one of the temples at Pompeii.

So, quite a few ticked off the list whilst I was away! And lots of holiday photos to share with you over the next few weeks too. I obviously haven’t been doing any scrapbooking whilst I have been away and to be honest, it has been too hot to do any since we got back! So, for now, I will be sharing what we got up to in Italy and what else we have been getting up to over the summer.

Sunday Scavenger Hunt Photos

I've managed to find two this week, but hoping to find a load more over the coming week and next weekend!

So, for this week I have...
18. Your local pub/bar, coffee house or tea shop

This is our local pub, the Quart Pot and although we are not frequent pub 'goers' this is where we go when we do! It has a lovely garden to sit in when it is warm enough and in the winter a lovely open fire. They also do nice lunches here and that is the main reason we go! It is only a 10 minute walk from our house, which is nice, but it is on a very busy road, so it was difficult to get a good photo of it!

8. A tower

Penny and I went to Hadleigh Castle on Friday for a picnic lunch. The sun hadn't come out when I took these photos, so they are a bit against grey sky. However, they are tower photos! It is the same tower, but two different viewpoints. I can't decide which one I like best yet and so have put them both here. Which one do you prefer?

Some More Scavenger Hunt Finds

Last Sunday Penny and I took Hugh to Paper Mill Lock where she and I had been the week before. It is such a lovely place for a walk and this time the weather was even better - in fact it was boiling hot and sunny!

I didn't think that I would get any photos for the Scavenger Hunt as we had done the walk before and I had already posted those which I had found. However,  fortunately I took my camera as this time there was a fishing competition on and there were fishermen sitting about every 40 feet along the path! I was a little dubious about taking a photo without asking, but then we suddenly came upon a friend of ours! Before I could even ask him Penny had jumped in and asked if we could take his photo for the Scavenger Hunt and he kindly obliged - thanks Andy!

So, that is number 19 off the list!

Later that evening I was pottering around in the utility room and came into the kitchen to find ...

number 9? Something where it shouldn't be?!! Hugh is so ridiculous! He didn't pose for the photo, he had just got up on there to be silly because the kitchen was being pulled out! I'm not sure I'll use this one, but I had to share it. I'm sure Hugh won't mind - well he shouldn't have given me the opportunity - he knows what I am like!

A few more for the Scavenger Hunt!

As you will have seen, Penny and I went out last Sunday and Monday for my birthday and I was able to tick off a few more items from the list!

 7. A sign that is intentionally or unintentionally funny

The names of these turkeys tickled me! Penny and I both thought it was a bit rotten to call them that!

9. A photo with someone or something that is clearly out of place or doesn't belong

I had already done this photo, but I loved the fact that at Tropical Wings all the sparrows were flying into the cages and drinking and eating the parrots' food - they were definitely out of place!

10. A bench that is outside

This was taken on our walk along the River Chelmer at Paper Mill Lock.

11. An animal in a zoo, aquarium, nature preserve, etc.

There were so many photos I could choose from, but I loved this one of the lemur.

 12. A cloud in the shape of something (please specify what you see)

Hopefully you can see an elephant's head - his trunk and then below that a tusk! This was taken in our back garden early yesterday evening - Hugh spotted it and I ran inside to grab the camera. I was just in time as it started to break up just after I had taken the photo.

13. A fence

This was taken at Tropical Wings and you can just see a guinea pig in the corner!
