Using my kits

I recently received an email from Quirky Kits Ideas Blog and just loved the layout which was being shown. You can see the layout here on the blog here.

I had received my latest kit from Noel Mignon and in it was some Distress Ink. I immediately thought of that and how I could use it to scraplift the above layout.

It was only when I had finished the layout and went to put it in my album that I realised I had already scrapped a very similar photo from that walk with almost identical wording! Oh well, I had great fun creating it!
And so I decided to create another page, this time from an earlier kit and using photos I KNEW I hadn't scrapped before from our trip to Wales last year.
I had kept the tickets from the railway journey for just on the year and I was so glad that I managed to find them to put on this layout!
So, after a few weeks of no scrapbooking I am making quite a dent in my stash as I am on HOLIDAY for a week! Really enjoying some time for me and taking it easy.

Recuperation scrapbooking!

Whilst I was recuperating last week I managed to squeeze into the conservatory and make a couple of layouts.

I bought this collection of paper with the intention of using them for all my summer pages and then promptly forgot I had them! I was looking through my papers last week and found them, so decided to use as many of them as I could on the layouts.
I had bought quite a few of the printed vellum sheets, so cut them up and used them on this layout. The papers are all Websters pages, either Ocean Melody, or in the other layout below, Strawberry Fields.
There were also some Project Life type cards on a sheet which I also cut apart to use up.
I've still got quite a few sheets left, so watch out for more layouts being created using them in the future!
I really like these lines of papers, but actually find them quite difficult to use! I am hoping that now the conservatory is back to normal I can find some plainer papers to mix with them and use them all up.

Do you like photo realistic papers or do you find them difficult to use too?

Some layouts to share

Back in July, Penny and I took Wendy to Norsey Woods as although it is very local to us, Wendy had never been there. To us it is one of our local places to go for a walk and we have been going there since the children were little. So we had great fun showing Wendy around.

The sun was out and Wendy and I both had our cameras. Penny was very patient whilst we did lots of wildlife and scenery photograpy!

These two layouts have been made with the 'Tea for Two' kit. I loved the doilies and thought that they would go really well with this photo of the butterfly.

This wood effect paper was perfect as the background for this collage of photos taken during our walk. It was great to have Penny as she took this photo of me and Wendy!
The flower cluster in the bottom corner was on the bottom of another sheet of paper, but I fussy cut it to layer up on this layout.

Thanks for looking and I will be back again soon!

Afternoon tea

So on Sunday I had my first fun event of April and went out to afternoon tea with my friend Wendy and 7 of her friends.
Wendy celebrates a special birthday this year, but as it is on Christmas Eve, when most people don't want to go out and celebrate a birthday, she decided to have a year of celebrations instead!
Here is Wendy with an early birthday card!

The china on the table was so pretty, as were the flowers, which we found out were artificial!

The starfish and seashells in the frames made a very pretty background for the photos.

The cakes and sandwiches were absolutely delicious, as were the scones and cream!

We also each had a mini trifle with a Madeleine cake. For such small portions I got very full, very quickly!
Another shot of pretty china.
Wendy with two of her friends. I am hoping that the friend on the left will forward on to Wendy the photo she took of me, Wendy and Sue as I didn't get any of the three of us and, of course, will need that to complete the scrapbook page I intend to do!
