A couple of layouts

This is the layout I did for the Week One Challenge on UKScrappers, which I set. The photos were taken at the wedding of our very good friends Peter and Maggie (Hugh was Best Man). The challenge I set was to use a sketch by Shimelle, use celebration photos and to include ribbon (as I love using ribbon on layouts). I hand stitched the red ribbon and lace onto the layout and wrapped the lace around the flower on the top of the layout. I was really pleased with how it all came out.

This layout is my Week 52 layout for Scrap Like You Mean It - Shimelle's weekly challenge on UKS. I am really pleased to say that I managed to complete every challenge - a couple were a bit late, but on the whole I managed to do each one before the dead line. I realised that this meant that I had completed at least 52 layouts in 2009 - and I know I did more than that because I also completed a whole album with our Florida photos and I know that I had to buy two sets of refill page protectors, so I have 60 layouts in there! I wonder if I will complete as many in 2010. I am intending to do Shimelle's challenge for this year Document 2010 - there is a thread on UKS for this too.

I have taken a photo out of my new office window and will try and post that over the weekend - nowhere near as nice a view as my old office!

I really liked the sketch you chose, and I used it as a jumping off point for scrapping my Thanksgiving pictures. By the time it was complete, I'm not sure you could tell it was based on the sketch anymore, but it was a great starting point. I'll post my l/o Sunday on my blog.
Thanks for the inspiration!

I love the clean lines of both of these sketches. I do a lot of card sketch challenges, but I need to start doing some scrapbook challenges as well.

Did you manage all 52 challenges?
