How I long for a holiday!
We have booked to go and stay in this 'cottage' (looks more like a house to me!) during June. This will be our first holiday away this year and it seems to be taking a long time to come around! I don't want to wish my life away, but I could really do with a holiday.
So, where are we going? Well, it is Riding Mill, near Corbridge in Northumberland. Penny is coming with us and Ben will be at home to see to the cats and the chickens (he is having a holiday with his lovely girlfriend earlier in the year). The three of us love to walk, visit castles, churches and stately homes and so that is what we will be doing. There is also Vindolanda the Roman Army Museum and of course Hadrian's Wall. We will also be visiting Beamish, which we have wanted to visit for a long time. The other places we hope to get to are Alnwick Castle and also to Holy Island. I hope that the weather is kind to us when we go, as I really want to have a look around Alnwick Castle gardens.
Doesn't it look beautiful? I can just imagine all the lovely photos I could take if the weather is good!

The Pioneer Beach Hotel. Hugh and I have never been to Cyprus so it will be really interesting for both of us. We will be taking it easy by the pool and the sea, but also doing some sightseeing. I have bought the Rough Guide to Cyprus and have read it from cover to cover!

Sounds like you'll be having 2 lovely breaks this year.
We're renting a cottage as well later this year....in Somerset...a part of the country we've never been to before.
Both sound lovely. Hoping to see a bit of the English countryside when we go to Cambridge this summer.

Visiting castles sounds like such our kind of holiday too :) That cottage looks picture-perfect - I can't wait to hear how it is decorated inside.
Tracy and I were just talking today about how much we'd love to be going on a holiday now. It will be another 2-3 weeks before things turn green here and even when the sun is shining it's pretty dreary looking. Both of your trips sound wonderful, but Cyprus looks divine!
We're off to California in May (hopefully with a road trip from Colorado on the way) and going on a cruise to Alaska this summer with two of our best friends. I'm so looking forward to both trips so I'm trying to be patient!
