Christmas Day in the Gotch house

So, having read Alison's post on her Christmas Day (and enjoyed it so much), I thought I would share our day.

We woke at 7.30am, as did Ben. Penny was still fast asleep and needed her alarm to wake her at 8am! We have always done stockings for Ben and Penny, which they open sitting on our bed and this year was no exception. The only change this year was that Penny had done a very small stocking (actually an ankle sock!) for me and Hugh with a letter from Santa too! I was so surprised I didn't take any photos!

Once these jokey presents had all been opened, we showered, had breakfast and then moved into the lounge to open our presents.
The presents are all under the tree and Ben has become the 'giver outer' of the gifts. We take it in turns to open our presents - quite civilised compared with when they were little!
Penny wearing her onion goggles - hopefully they will stop her eyes watering when she cuts onions!

A quick photo call before the Christmas tree...

before heading off to Hemel Hempstead to have Christmas Dinner with my parents.

After lunch we chatted, I helped my Mum with understanding Facebook and then we had the annual after dinner visit from Father Christmas.

Ben telling Father Christmas that he had been a good boy this year! Hugh was 'in the toilet' again this year as he always seems to be when Father Christmas arrives!

After a quick game of 'Butt Head' which Ben had from my sister for Christmas, we piled back into the car and headed back to Wickford. A lovely relaxing day, followed by a relaxing evening at home and then an early night, feeling very full!
