However, we did see a tall ship
We arrived at the cottage after buying some food for the week. The cottage was situated at Island Harbour where there were lots of boats moored and it was car free!
The views from the cottage were lovely and although it looks very overcast (which it was when we took the photos!) we actually had some very sunny (but cold) days and the views were even better!
The view from the kitchen window of the pond and the cottages opposite. We were visited by a swan most evenings, he came to have a drink from the pond.
This is the back of the cottage. It was actually on three levels - the ground floor (where I am standing in the first photo) opened onto the kitchen/diner and also had Penny's bedroom with ensuite bathroom. From this floor there were stairs to our bedroom and ensuite which had windows looking out over the back (the top dormer windows here) and from the windows we had a view of the harbour.
This is the back garden - it was very small, but to be honest, it was too cold to be sitting outside anyway! You can just about see the boats to the left of the cottage opposite.
And here are Hugh and Penny sitting in the cosy lounge area. Hugh did manage to complete the jigsaw puzzle this year (after last year's attempt where there was one piece missing!).
Another view of the lounge area showing the stairs going up to the ground floor level. There was quite a good selection of books - some of my favourite authors - but a very poor selection of DVD's! Fortunately we had taken a few of our own to watch in the evenings!

It looks like such a lovely place, and a very restful vacation. Looking forward to more photos!
What a splendid photo of the tall ship! Your place to stay looks very comfortable - looking forward to the next instalment!
It does look lovely. I'm admiring the Tall Ship picture too. That's definitely scrap-worthy!
Great pictures, especially the tall ship. Sounds like you had a lovely break away in a beautiful cottage.
The cottage looks very cosy!
