An early celebration

As I said in my last post, last weekend we were visiting Hugh's family down in Cornwall. We wanted to take them all out for a meal to celebrate our anniversary, which falls at the end of the month, and Penny's 21st birthday which is next week. However, Hugh's sister and brother-in-law were unable to come with us, which was a shame, but Lucy, our niece did come, which was nice as she was one of our bridesmaids and she will not be able to come to our party either.
The light, unfortunately, wasn't very good for taking photos at our table, but we did our best!
We went to the Halfway House pub in the Glyn Valley, which is only about 10 minutes drive from Mother-in-law's house, which is good for the in-laws as they don't like to travel far these days - Mum-in-law probably won't like me telling you, but she is 92 and Dad-in-law is 90 this year! I think they are brilliant and should shout it from the rooftops!
 Penny with her grandparents.
We all ate far too much of really nice food! (Yes, I know I said earlier in the week I am trying not to put weight on - I must keep reminding myself!). In fact, I felt so full I didn't eat anything else until Sunday morning at breakfast time!
Penny with her cousin Lucy eating their desserts. Hugh, his Mum and I also had one of these! I think that was probably just a little bit too much, but the Cornish icecream was lovely and sooo rich!

It was a lovely weekend and so nice to see them, especially as we hadn't seen them since just before Christmas.

You would never say they were in their 90's ... They should be shouting it and giving us all tips to look that good :). Looks like you all had a great time

Oh - that ice cream looks divine. Your in-laws are in their 90's? They most definitely do not look it.
