A second day in San Francisco

Our second day dawned bright and sunny with no fog in sight! We breakfasted and then went and found the Apple store as Hugh wanted to buy me an Ipad for my birthday. After purchasing that we strolled back to the hotel and deposited it safely in our room (I was not allowed it until my birthday on the 24th!). We then had decided to get the cable car - but the queue was soooo long we decided to move up a few stops and try there. After three cable cars had gone past us full, we decided to change our plans!

We had the bus ticket for two days, so we went and got on the bus and took it down to Pier 39.
We had a lovely stroll around, looking at the shops, buying a few bits and pieces and then going to see the sea lions.
It was such a lovely day the view to Alcatraz was superb.
After a bite of lunch we went into the aquarium, which was fun. I love the jellyfish:
And had to take a photo of this sweet turtle for Deb (Paperturtle)!
A few more photos taken:
And then we made our way to the
to pick up the cable car. We had to queue for an hour and three quarters! I thought we were never going to get on it! However, we were in San Francisco and we WERE going to ride it! We eventually got on and rode it all the way to the end of the line!
For our evening meal we ventured into China Town

and found a restaurant that didn't look much on the outside, but served the most wonderful food - and it was very reasonably priced too. The other diners were all Chinese so we assumed that it had a good reputation!
We then strolled back through China Town, doing some window shopping - there was some lovely jewellery and also some lovely ornaments.
When we arrived back at the hotel we packed most of our bits and pieces up, ready for an early departure in the morning and then collapsed into bed! Another very busy, but very interesting and enjoyable day. I love San Francisco and want to go back! Two days were really not enough!

You managed to see quite a bit in just 2 days but definitely left more for your next visit.

San Francisco is one of my favorite cities! We were so lucky to have five days there almost 16 years ago, and then Sarah lived just 45 minutes from San Fran for the last three years. I never ran out of things I wanted to do, or tired of the city. You certainly made great use of your time there.
