An inspiration

Sian has suggested the theme 'Too cool for school' as this month's theme for Story Telling Sunday 2 - the words, the pictures. I've been trying to think of something to tell you about school, but my mind has been a bit blank! Then I suddenly decided I would tell you about someone who has taught and inspired me for about 5 years now, ever since I stumbled across her blog.
Shimelle
I just love Shimelle's style of scrapbooking and her way of teaching. I have been lucky enough to attend one of her classes at a retreat and it was just brilliant. As you can see from my side bar, I have also managed to complete most of her online classes too and take part in her classes/challenges over on UKScrappers. In some ways she has been more of a 'teaching' inspiration than any of my school teachers ever were! I have made my way in the world of work without being inspired by any of my teachers. I was a very quiet child at school and I think just left to my own devices! With Shimelle I have found my own style of scrapbooking and if ever I am feeling a loss of mojo then I just head over to her blog and I can find something to get me going again. Also, she makes the most wicked cupcakes - you should look at those on her blog if you haven't yet! (And I've tried some of her recipes - yum!)

Hop on over to Sian's blog here to read some more Story Telling Sunday 2 stories.

I'd love to attend one of her 'real' classes.

An interesting take on the 'school' theme. I love Shimelle's classes too, but my track record for finishing them (other than the blogging one) is poor!

The first scrapbooking class I ever took (I signed up about a month after I started scrapbooking!) was Shimelle's No Place Like HOme. It certainly did open up a whole new world for me. Here's to inspiring teachers!

Inspiration comes from many places, and it's great that Shimelle has been yours. She certainly is a wonderful teacher and I am in full admiration that you have managed to complete most of her classes. Good to see her in action too! Irene

Yes, she is awesome, she makes you think you are stumbling across things yourself doesn't she? Great take on the theme :)

I met Shimelle at a retreat about ten years ago and have watched her business and teaching flourish and grow. Amazing how things have changed over that time.

So glad she inspired you! Cupcakes area always a good thing too :)

Shimelle is the happiest teacher and relays all that happiness to her students. I haven't tried to make any of her cupcakes yet but they do look decadent.
