Clam Chowder!
Something I had always wanted to try and when we were in Monteray I had the chance. The restaurant was giving out free samples as we walked past - it was delicious! After our walk along the shore we returned to the hotel, tidied ourselves up and walked the very short distance to the restaurant and ordered the clam chowder in the sourdough roll - it was heaven on a plate!
We were lucky to get seats on the balcony overlooking the sea and it was a perfect place to sit and eat our wonderful meal. The only disappointment was that we were so full we didn't have room for the icecream we had sussed out earlier!

It's not something I've ever had....glad you enjoyed it so much.
It's one of the things I listed on my "firsts" list recently - but I've only eaten it that once. I love the way it's served in the bread
This makes me giggle because it is so plentiful around where I live! Beautiful layout, too - great colors.
