The decorating is nearly done! So this past weekend I actually got some time to go and play in my craft room - otherwise known as the conservatory! I decided to complete two layouts using the rest of my Wear Crafts kit. There were instructions for two more layouts, but I decided to go my own way and to add a bit more to the bits that were left. In that way, not only did I completely use up the kit I had ordered, but also managed to clear some papers and embellies from my stash!
This is the first layout. I did pull out the photo first and then create the page this time. I am slowly working my way through 2012's photos and this one was taken when we went to stay with my in-laws in Cornwall just before Penny's 21st birthday. It is a sad situation that I don't actually have many photos of Ben and Penny with their paternal grandparents - there is a reason behind this, but let's just say that certain family members down there create a fuss when the camera comes out so it saves arguments if the camera stays in the bag. However, this time we went out to a restaurant and the complainer was not with us so out came the camera! It was a shame that Ben wasn't with us, but I still managed to get some nice photos and this is one of them!
I did some more fussy cutting to get the butterflies and the flowers were from a Basic Grey Plumeria sticker sheet. The purple papers were in my stash and the washi tape came from Paperchase.
This is a close up of the journalling for you, so you don't have to strain your eyes trying to read it!
And a close up of some of the embellishments.
My last layout from the kit didn't have too much added to it - only some washi tape, gems and the lettering. Again I did some fussy cutting - butterflies, birds and flowers. This photo was taken when we had the family over to celebrate Penny's 21st birthday.
I am now looking forward to receiving my next kit from Wear Crafts!

I am admiring all that careful fussy cutting and delicate layering. Nice that at least he will have a photo of them :).
I love fancy cutting like that - even simply looking at yours has me feeling all calm because I find it so relaxing to do! Lovely stuff
They look great Becky. Oh my all that fancy cutting. Can I send my fancy cutting to you? :)
The blues and purples in the first layout are just wonderful. I'm willing to fussy cut for a card, but never think to do it for a layout. Lovely!
I love that shade of purple, and like Karen said, it looks great with the blue.

Glad you got the photos, it is hard when people aren't keen on the camera. Fussy cutting always looks good - the extra layering lifts the layout so. I really like that blue/purple combination too.
