New flat, shiny flat!

So last weekend saw us moving Penny into her flat in Canterbury. Term doesn't start until 30th September, but as she has special needs she is allowed to move in early to get used to the flat and the area.
We arrived just before lunchtime - it only takes just over an hour to get there from our house. As I think I have mentioned in previous posts, her course is with Canterbury Christchurch University, but last year her course was based in Folkestone. As they closed the Folkestone Campus she is now going to actually be in Canterbury. Her flat is in a purpose built block of student accommodation.
The top two open windows here are her living/kitchen area. The flat is slightly smaller than the old one, but she is very happy with it.
Penny has a double bed in the bedroom along with a desk, chair and wardrobe and a view of
Canterbury Cathedral! I have actually zoomed in a bit here, it is a bit further away than it looks here!
Her loung area is furnished this year, so we only have to take a couple of pieces of furniture.
The kitchen is slightly smaller, so one of the pieces of furniture we need to take for her is a kitchen trolley with a worksurface top. Most students only cook beans on toast in their kitchens and don't produce wonderful baked goods like Penny does!

We are all looking forward to her starting back and hopefully having a more settled term this year than her last term. She is enjoying her course, but we have had a few stressful occasions! I would like to think that the majority of that is out of the way now and that we can all enjoy her being at university.

Okay...I want to go to school in Canterbury now. That place is WAY bigger than my dorm room was in college, and she has a view of the cathedral?! Awesome. That's it, I'm coming to visit again! And I might not leave this time! ;)

I like her accommodation! Mine was definitely not that swish although it was in a 200 year old building so pretty good I guess! Hope Penny has a lovely term.

Best of luck to Penny! Adjusting to new living situations and new classes can certainly be tough, but it looks like she's got a great start here.

I received a random text from Carrie yesterday saying that she was completely obsessed with Penny's flat in Canterbury. Haha - now I'm reading this post this morning and I can see why.

Penny's flat IS awesome, and I'm wishing her a fantastic year at University in her cool little flat!
