Glitter Girl

I signed up on the Two Peas website for the Glitter Girl workshop which was released at the beginning of the month. It was very good value and I am still working my way through the videos and PDF's. It is a self paced class which in some ways is better for me working full time. I feel no pressure to 'get it done' and be completing things at the same time as my classmates.

As usual with Shimelle/Glitter Girl classes I am loving it and finding loads of inspiration. This page is from her second lesson and is a scraplift of one of her pages. The heart embellishments are actually small magnets courtesy of Ben a year or so ago as  Mother's Day present - he knew I wouldn't use them as magnets on the fridge!
I had been saving the journalling card and the piece of paper to the right of the photos especially for this layout of Santa Monica Pier as it was so 'right'.

I used stickers, wood veneer, gems and my stamps. The class is really getting me to think about using all of my stash and not just sticking to the things I usually use. I have so many stamps and really need to get them out more often.
A close up of the journalling.

This second layout is also courtesy of the class. Shimelle, sorry, Glitter Girl (!) was talking about using the items which cost more, eg, punches. Yes, I have a load of punches and probably use the same one over and over again! I grabbed my box of them out and punched the edge of this paper and like the effect! I also grabbed out my mists and dripped some onto the page. Again, I have some mists, but don't use them that often.

Another thing I pulled out was some brads. I've got a unit with little drawers in and they are all colour coded, but I rarely use them! The square ones I have had forever. Well, no more! They are all on this layout! If I keep doing this I'll be able to justify buying some more enamel dots lol!

Again I used my stamps and I also dug out some word stickers which were appropriate.

If you haven't seen the class do hop on over to Shimelle's blog to have a peek and see if it would be of any interest to you.

I especially like the design and colours of your second page, and that cluster of lovely things around your journalling really catches the eye ...

Been using up my brads too - saw the eyelets and wondered if I'll get back into them too... Glad you've been enjoying the class :)

Great job on these layouts - I especially like that you saved that paper & journal box for the Santa Monica Pier layout as they are perfect. I've been watching some older Glitter Girl videos lately & am inspired to use more of my stash, too!

I definitely need to use my brads & punches more. Both of these look really nice. You must be getting to close to finishing that trip's album(s).
