My 'Smash' Book!

Before we went to Northumberland I had been reading all about Smash books and decided that I wouldn't be buying one as they seemed quite expensive and I was not sure what I would actually use it for. Then I decided to make a journal to take on holiday with me and based it around a Smash book!
I made up the journal before I went, using a two ring 8x8 album I had in my stash. I used journalling cards and odd bits of paper I had, making some pages into pockets for keeping memorabilia in.

I took a few travel stamps, two ink pads, a journalling pen and some tape with me. I also took my Pogo printer so that I could print off one or two photos for each day.

I tried to do two sides for each day, making notes on what we had done and where we had been.

Oh yes, I also took along some stickers to use - one page of letters/numbers and some Tim Holtz ones. Everything was from my stash, so it didn't cost anything to make.

Above is one of my pocket pages and on the back I have taped a receipt. I thought it would be nice to look back in a few years and see how much things cost!

Thanks for looking - I will share a few more pages later in the week.

Great book! Riding Mill is a lovely little place...DD went to school with a girl who lived there, so I often did the 'taxi' run! (We lived in Whitley Bay at the time)

Your book is lovely and I really like how you've filled it. I made one too and thought it was much more fun than just buying one x

I love this! I also thought I would make my own Smash book - much more fun and personal than buying one. My granddaughters are going on holiday Monday so you have given me the idea of making one each for them to take. Perfect, especially if it is wet! Thanks for the idea Becky!!

Love this! I'm really enjoying my SMASH book, although it's purpose is quite different. I love that they can be for almost anything you wish.
