A happy birthday

to my wonderful husband, Hugh! We will be celebrating this evening with a home cooked meal - party pork chops - which is one of his favourites. It is a recipe from my sister's Godmother and one which I introduced Hugh to and which he now requests every birthday. This will be followed by rice pudding, but only for him, as Penny and I don't like it! We will be good and not have dessert tonight.

Ben is coming home for the weekend and on Saturday evening he is taking us all out for a meal (and he is paying - that is a first!) and then on Sunday my parents are coming over for a family Sunday roast and Penny will be baking a birthday cake for us to enjoy.

I hope he likes his presents - model railway related from me (he hasn't opened them yet, waiting for Penny to get home from work) and various other bits and pieces. So, it just remains for me to say again, happy birthday and I hope he enjoys the rest of the day and his extended birthday over the weekend.

:o) I love that you are making a special dessert just for him, even though you and Penny don't like it. And the fact that Ben is paying for a meal shows he is really grown up. As a parent, what a great way to celebrate a birthday! Happy birthday to your lucky hubby!
