Deja vu

This morning Hugh and I were in Basildon for him to have an eye test and buy some new glasses. On the way to Specsavers we walked past a jewellers/pawnbrokers and Hugh spotted some solitaire rings in the window that were unredeemed pledges. He stopped us to have a look and then turned to me and said - 'well, which one do you like?'. This was deja vu for me! When we had been going out for 10 months we were shopping in Hemel Hempstead and walked past a jewellers. Hugh stopped me, asked me which engagement ring I liked (if we were to get engaged) and then took me into the shop and bought it - we were engaged just like that! (He did propose more romantically later in the day lol!).

So, I picked out the one I liked, had it sized for my finger and it is now being made the right size and will be ready for collection in a couple of weeks. This is going to be my anniversary present from him and I will have to wait until May for it. I have said for about the past 10 years that for my silver wedding anniversary what I would really like is a solitaire, but I never thought I would get one. I love my husband sooo much - he is so generous, kind and not always forgetful!

Today I am celebrating having such a wonderful husband and that I will soon be the owner of a wonderful ring.

What a great story! I'm actually working on having my original engagement diamond (very pretty, but small b/c we were poor students) put into a new ring. DH gave me a new, bigger diamond for our tenth anniversary.
