I'm lying on the bed, on top of the covers still wearing my maxi dress
from the gala dinner. My skin is glowing from being in the sun today and
I can smell the perfume I put on before leaving the room. The door to
the balcony is open and the curtains are billowing in the welcome
breeze. I could shut the door and put the air conditioning on, but it is
nicer to have fresh air and listen to the sounds of Italy. I can see
the lights from other hotels on he hillside twinkling and hear the
grasshoppers chirruping. The occasional car goes past, followed by the
buzz of a scooter. I hear the toot of the horn from a shuttle bus as it
goes round the hairpin bend outside our hotel. The remains of the glass
of limoncella Hugh and I had on our return to the room are sitting on my
bedside table waiting to be rinsed out, but I don't want to get up yet
as my legs are aching from the walk up and down Vesuvius today and then
being dragged up to dance with the traditional dancers at dinner. I
glance at the suitcases on the floor and sigh - they remind me that the
holiday is nearly over, we go home tomorrow - arrivederci Sorrento.
I've literally come straight back from holiday and back to work and have not had a time to visit any blogs yet. I will be doing some catching up and commenting over the weekend! Thank you for all your comments on the posts I scheduled whilst I was away.

I could visualize the room, smell your perfume and hear the noises, well done. Hope re-entry isn't too bad!
