So, here we are in Sorrento at the Grand Hotel Aminta. We left home this morning at 10am to get to Gatwick - earlier than planned, but we had seen that there was an accident on the M25. It took us ages to get to Gatwick, nearly two hours! Fortunately we got there in time, just as check in opened. We had parked in short term so just walked from the car park into the terminal. We breezed through check in and security and then went to Garfunkles for lunch.
After lunch we had a walk round the terminal before boarding the plane. I read and Hugh snoozed for the two and a half hour flight. When we landed we didn't have to wait too long for our bags and
then we exited the terminal to catch the coach. Only the coach hadn't arrived! After a ten minute wait it turned up and we boarded for the hour and a half trip to the hotel.
We were the last hotel drop off, and got here at 8.45pm.
Once we had taken our bags to our room we went down for dinner. It was lovely, but very filling! We then came back up to our room to unpack and Skype Penny. Looking forward to tomorrow and our first proper holiday day.

Day One is good isn't it? I use it whilst traveling too - captures all those details you forget :)
Sounds like the beginning of a nice trip & a great idea to keep a journal on your iPad.
Sorrento to is beautiful, isn't it? I like how you used your iPad for your holiday notes; I'm a pen & paper girl, as my blog post tells you today, funnily enough!
I m a Day One fan too, though I also use Keynote a lot. Glad you got off to a good start despite the little hitches. You look very relaxed!
Enjoy your holiday. I heard lots of good things about Sorrento
You both look thrilled to be at the start of vacation--I hope the rest of it turned out as well as the beginning did.
Day one was successful - yay! Good for you for taking the traveling part all in stride - sometimes that can make or break a trip.
I'm trying to decide between a hand-written journal and using the iPad for the trip next year. I don't want to forget anything about it. :) How did using the iPad work and what app did you use?
