Party time!

You might remember that I blogged a little while ago about the page in a frame I had made for my colleague Brenda's golden wedding anniversary. Well on Saturday it was the party.
Penny took our photo before we left, standing in front of our Christmas tree. I had been poorly all week and wasn't sure I was going to make the party, but make it I did!
Brenda and George with their son who said a few words and then told them that their grandchildren had a surprise for them.

The surprise was their youngest grandson, Adam, who is training to be a pilot. He had said that he wouldn't be able to attend the party as he had exams, but he was fooling them! Brenda and George were so touched that he arrived - a few tears were shed.

The grandchildren also had a present for them! I love Brenda's expression as she tears the paper off and George's expression looking at Brenda!

The present was a family photo of both their children, partners, grandchildren and their great granddaughter.

Brenda iced the cake - with a little help from her daughter as Brenda had managed to break her arm in the run up to the party!
Hugh and I had a lovely time and were very honoured to be asked to share their celebration. Here is me and Brenda.

The dresses (for both of us!) are now refreshed and waiting to be put on for our Company Christmas party at Stock Brook Manor tomorrow night. I am looking forward to it as I always have a laugh when partying with Brenda!

It looks like a lovely celebration. I am currently trying to coerce my brothers into a family photo for my parents. Easier said than done!
