Simply a moment - December 2013

As my eyes open I realise that the day has gone and evening is upon us again. I must have slept for a couple of hours. What woke me? Ah, it must have been the Christmas tree lights clicking on with the timer. My eyes are blurry – I don’ t have my glasses on – and the lights on the tree look so pretty, twinkling with a bokeh effect. I feel for my glasses and put them on. It is dark outside, but the lights in the outside tree flash on and off. I must get up and close the curtains, but not for the moment. Arwen is on my legs on top of the blanket. Her weight is warm and comforting. I’m almost better, but obviously not quite yet,  to fall asleep mid afternoon for so long! Arwen yawns and stretches, catching her claws in the blanket. I try to help her unhook, but she doesn’t like me touching her paws so makes a half hearted attempt to bite me. I leave her alone and she manages by herself and jumps off my lap. Time for me to move from my comfy warm spot on the settee and close those curtains.
I am joining in for the last time this year with Alexa's Meme - Simply a Moment. Do hop on over to her blog to see what everyone else has recorded this month.

That kind of moment has been repeated here of late. Right down to the kitty claws...

No kitties here, but a long nap would be very useful!

There really is something so comforting about having a cat asleep on you. I'm glad to hear you're feeling a little better

That's a lovely moment. I've been promising myself all day that, now all my work's done and I've not got much wrapping left, I'll cosy up on the settee under a blanket and watch a festive film. Not got there yet ... but you're inspiring me to get a move on!

Glad you are feeling a bit better - cats do appreciate a human who lies still don't they? Always a comfort to have them snuggle up too.

So sorry to be late arriving :(- poorly parent needing lots of care but now improving. I do hope you are recovering well and your gentle awakening (despite the claws!) sounded very therapeutic. Thank you so much for joining in again and I am very touched that you should have done so especially when not feeling wonderful. If has been lovely to have had your participation this year :).
