Me on Monday

Well, this weekend has been a bit of a strange one! It has come at the end of a week's holiday, which has seen me sprain my ankle, take Hugh to the hospital for tests, return to the hospital to return testing equipment, take Penny to the doctor to find out that she has a viral cough, take Penny to the podiatrist to have her toenail removed, take Hugh to the station so he could get a train to Cornwall as his father has had a massive stroke and Hugh can't drive, me then have a migraine for two and a half days, collecting Hughh from the station and us actually managing to get a short time together when we were able to relax and do our hobbies! Today was back to work for us both. I hope our next week off is a bit healthier.

Hugh's father is still in hospital and it is going to be a long road to recovery. He is 92 next month and obviously the older you are the longer it takes to recover from anything. We are keeping in constant touch with the family in Cornwall and will of course go down again soon. Positive thoughts would be much appreciated.

This week sees us back at work, a trip with Penny to the podiatrist for a change of dressing, Penny working with me for two days, and then on Friday our cousins from Canada (who Penny stayed with in July) coming to stay for the weekend. I haven't seen Dick and Diane for 24 years, so we have a lot to catch up on!

And here I am on Monday, squinting into the sun in the garden before work!

I am joining in with Sian's suggestion of sharing what we have done over the weekend in a few words - well quite a lot of words from me this week!

I'm very sorry to hear what's been going on and I'm sending all best wishes to everyone. I hope High's Dad continues to make improvements...such a shock, I know. And for you, I hope the head holds up and the migraines stay away..they certainly do have a habit of appearing when they are especially not needed. Look after yourself x

Oh gosh, Becky, that sounds like a lot of stress in the mix of things around your place. I'm sending you a big virtual hug, my friend. Hang in there!

So sorry to read about such a list of difficult things to have to go through ... Hoping that Hugh's dad is making as good as recovery as he can, and that your migraine is well and truly gone. And wishing you lovely times with your friends!
