It was a boxing things up, emptying the lounge, steaming
wallpaper off the wall sort of weekend for me!
We are decorating the lounge – something we meant to do last
year but never got around to. I do NOT like decorating! We are doing all the
preparation and then getting our friendly handyman, Butch, in to put it all
right! The new suite is in place and we have been out and ordered curtains, and
carpet. We need to choose the wallpaper we want to go up pretty soon! Hopefully
the preparation will all be done by next weekend.
It is back to work for me today, after being off since 11am
on Christmas Eve. It was hard getting up at 6.20am this morning, but I did it
and managed to be in work on time! I am just about caught up on all the jobs
here and taking a well earned lunch break.
Whatever you did over the weekend I hope it was a bit more
enjoyable than mine! This meme is courtesy of Sian whose idea it was in the
first place. Please hop on over to her blog to see what she has been up to this
weekend.

I'm not so keen on decorating either....but it's always worth it when you're finished.
I actually love stripping wallpaper (wonder is it some weird inversion of also loving to stick it down!) tho I'm not much use with a steamer. I slosh a lot of water about and scrape, mostly. I'm looking forward to seeing the completed result.
Have a great week Becky
Do share pictures when it is finished! I decorated our bathroom this summer and decided it wasn't for me! Painting the ceiling was particularly frustrating!
I actually enjoy the actually decorating and planning, but it's the mess and disruption that drives me nuts ... So this Monday, I'm wishing you lots of good luck with this xx
Blimey, you have begun the year with a big burst of energy, Becky! I am especially admiring that you were also up so early and still in the dark :).
Having had our living area redecorated before Christmas, I can only sympathise....but it is indeed worth it in the end!!
Alison xx
It sounds like you had a busy weekend. Maybe if you'd of picked the wallpaper first then you might have looked forward to decorating a bit more :) x
Just popping in to wish you a Happy New Year Becky. We also were supposed to decorate our lounge last year! Oh where does the time go?
We enjoy those types of projects around here & have one or two on the list for this year. Hope the project is progressing along & that you've had a good week.
Oh I hate all the prep work and stripping wallpaper has to be the worst. Looking forward to seeing what it looks like now.
