Simply a Moment - February 2014

I am joining in again this month with Alexa and her meme - 'Simply a Moment'. My moment was actually recorded last week, but I have only just got around to posting it!

I roll over and wonder groggily for a moment where I am. My movements are constricted by the narrow sleeping bag. I shuffle on the air bed until I am comfy again. I am in the lounge of Ben's flat. The street light is peeking through the slats of the blinds. The little freezer at my feet is humming and the green lights on the broadband box sitting on top of the freezer flash on and off. I wonder what has woken me and what the time is. I grope for my phone on the floor, flick up the cover and press the button on the front - 4.03am. I hear a movement in the bathroom and call out to Ben - is he ok? He had his shoulder operated on the day before and I am staying over to look after him. He calls back that he is fine and disappears up the stairs back to his room. I pull the blanket up over me, it is chilly, and snuggle back down again. I can relax and go back to sleep now that I know he is ok.
Moving Ben into the flat in 2011 - very top window is his room, one below is where I was sleeping

That will be a memorable moment to have on record in years to come, Becky - and I am sure he appreciated your love and concern very much indeed. Oh, the joys of airbeds - I remember them well :). Always a pleasure to see that you have linked up and thank-you very much for joining in this month again.

This one resonated with me today - TTO phoned the other day to say that he and his friends have signed for their first flat, for next year. Mmm..I wonder does he have a spare sleeping bag?!

Oh! that feeling 'he is Ok, now I am Ok' I know it well. Lovely moment to share Becky.

Such a vivid description- so glad that your son is OK! I remember my mother's coming to be with me when I too was "all grown up." I know I slept better just because she was there.
Cheers~

Glad that you could go and I'm sure he was grateful you were there with him.

I hope Ben is well on the road to recovery and now that you are home you are sleeping soundly. I think even when they are grown we fall back into that mode of light sleeping like when they were small.

Since I'm late in getting round, I hope Ben is quite well mended. Isn't it good to be there when you are needed.
