Last week saw me really busy at work. Penny had her last day
working with me as my new assistant started on Wednesday– think she will be ok,
time will tell!
On top of that, Hugh’s Mum has been taken ill and is back in
hospital again. The report from the hospital last night was that the doctors
are pleased with her progress, which is good. We don’t know how long she will
be in for, but are hoping to be able to visit soon. That is the problem with
Hugh’s side of the family living so far away – we feel helpless when something
like this happens as we just can’t help out or visit as we would like.
Hugh and I have joined Slimming World. We go on a Saturday
morning – it is an early start, but it means that we both can go together which
is nice. Last Saturday we both got our firs ½ stone award! We were really
pleased. It is so nice doing it with him as we help and encourage each other.
Saturday also saw us shopping for new jeans as ours were falling
down! After a morning of shopping we spent the afternoon catching up on all the
jobs, so no time for scrapbooking then!
Sunday, of course, was Mother’s Day. I didn’t see my Mum as
we are seeing her this Sunday for her birthday, but I did give her a ring and I
had already given her a present earlier in March. I received a lovely photo
frame from Penny with a photo of her and Ben in it. I had a lovely card from
each of them too. Hugh made me my Slimming World breakfast and we then did jobs
before having Sunday dinner together. We then took Penny to Tonbridge in Kent
for a wrestling event. When we returned I finally had time to do some
scrapbooking! Only I’m not sharing the pages yet as they are two for my ‘Five
Faves’ and so I will be sharing them later in the month!
Whilst I was scrapping Hugh was putting the rubbish out for
the Monday collection. He suddenly appeared at the conservatory door with a
small parcel for me. Ben had ordered me Mockingjay Part 1 for Mother’s Day and
it had been delivered! I was thrilled and immediately put it on and watched it
whilst I scrapped! I had already seen it at the cinema, but I am really
enjoying this series of films.
And so that was my week! Saturday looks as if it is going to
be busy again this week and then Sunday will see me at Mum’s for her birthday,
so little chance of scrapping this weekend! However, tonight I have Wendy and
Sue coming round for a crafting evening, so I should end up with something to
share with you.
For now, I will leave you with a photo Hugh took of me and
Penny on Mother’s Day. Penny was thrilled that she was taller than me in her
new heels! Oh, and on her face is her support for a wrestling team written in
eye liner!
